GHOST Immobiliser

Ghost Immobiliser

A ghost immobiliser helps prevent theft by adding a hidden layer of security that disrupts the van’s normal starting process.

Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

Hidden Installation: Unlike traditional fobs or transponders, a ghost immobilizer is a small electronic device installed discreetly within your van’s interior. This makes it nearly impossible for thieves to locate and disable it, unlike traditional systems they might be familiar with bypassing.

CAN Bus Integration: The ghost immobilizer connects to your van’s Controller Area Network (CAN bus).

This is the internal network that various electronic components in your van use to communicate with each other. By integrating with the CAN bus, the ghost immobilizer can monitor and intercept crucial signals needed for starting the engine.

Customizable PIN Code: You program the ghost immobilizer with a unique PIN code (or sequence) of your choice. This code can be a series of button presses on various controls inside your van, like the steering wheel, window buttons, or other inconspicuous buttons.

Engine Immobilization: When you try to start your van without first entering the correct PIN code, the ghost immobilizer disrupts communication within the CAN bus. This essentially throws a wrench into the van’s starting process, preventing essential signals from reaching the engine control unit (ECU). As a result, the engine will not turn over, no matter how many times you try to start it with the physical key.

Disarming the System: To start your van, you simply need to enter the correct PIN code using the designated buttons within the pre-determined timeframe. Once the system recognises the valid code, communication on the CAN bus resumes, and the van starts normally.

Overall, a ghost immobilizer provides a significant layer of security for your van by adding a hidden hurdle that thieves wouldn’t expect and can’t easily bypass.
